You tell me about your past,
all the stories of your life.
I hear all about your hurt,

your loss, your sadness.
You share your joy as well,
but that doesn't stick,
not like the sad stories do.

You remark on how quiet i am,
i say it's just my way.
You don't need to know
what goes on in my mind.

How i wish i could take it all,
take all your hurt, your sadness.
take it all away.
take it for myself. all of it.

so you won't have to feel them.
so you can be happy.
so that in a twisted way,
i can make you happy.

and you would never know...
you never need to know
why i suffer so much right now
to see you hurting like you do.

and being unable to take it,
to take all your pain away.
